About The Ship

Named for the North Cape itself

MS Nordkapp was christened by Queen Sonja of Norway in 1996, and her maiden voyage took her to the Shetland Islands before she joined the working Coastal Express route. She has been part of Hurtigruten's fleet since 2007, and was refurbished in 2016 and again in 2022 to bring her interior up to a modern, Arctic-inspired standard.

On board are three restaurants and the Multe bakery, a sauna and fitness room, and two outdoor hot tubs on deck, along with a cosy bar at the front of the ship and the large compass area housing reception, the tour guide desk and shop.

In Detail

A cosy, working ship

Like her sister ship MS Nordnorge, MS Nordkapp keeps the informal, working atmosphere of the Original fleet rather than the all-inclusive Signature style, with the same Nordic sense of koselig running through her public rooms. She also carries cars, making her a practical choice for anyone bringing their own vehicle along the coast.
