Day 1 - Oslo :
Welcome to Norway and your starting point: Oslo, a dynamic capital where striking modern architecture sits comfortably alongside historic landmarks.
If time allows before embarkation, head into the city centre to explore its highlights. Photograph the distinctive Rådhuset (City Hall), stroll past the Royal Palace, and visit Oslo Cathedral, all within easy reach and offering a great introduction to the city's character.
As afternoon gives way to evening, it's time to board your ship and begin the voyage ahead. After settling into your cabin or suite, you'll be introduced to your Expedition Team — an expert group who will host talks, share insights, and lead onboard activities throughout the journey.
Later, gather with fellow guests in the ship's two-storey panoramic lounge and watch Oslo's lights shimmer and recede as you sail out into the winter night, leaving the city behind and turning north towards the Arctic.
Optional Excursions :
Discover Oslo's must-see highlights on a single immersive tour, from the cosy city centre and fjord views at Holmenkollen Ski Jump to the sculptures of Vigeland Park, finishing on Bygdøy Peninsula with visits to the Fram Museum and either the Norwegian Folk Museum or Kon-Tiki Museum.
Day 2 - Settle in at sea :
Take time to settle into your cabin, sample Norway's coastal cuisine across the ship's three restaurants and bar, and begin getting to know your fellow guests.
As the voyage unfolds, simply relax and watch Norway's dramatic southern coastline drift past. Enjoy the views from the expansive Observation Deck, the ship's two-storey lounge and bar, or unwind in the panoramic sauna as sea and shore glide by.
Beyond the scenery, this coastline is rich in history and maritime legend. Throughout the day, deepen your understanding of Norway's coast and the journey ahead through a programme of lectures, presentations and onboard activities led by the expedition team.
Day 3 - Stavanger :
Today is spent in Stavanger, a colourful harbour city known for its international feel and vibrant cultural life.
Wander through Gamle Stavanger, home to Northern Europe's finest collection of preserved wooden houses, and visit Stavanger Cathedral, Norway's oldest cathedral, dating back to the 12th century.
Alternatively, explore the Norwegian Petroleum Museum, browse local boutiques, or relax with a beer overlooking the waterfront. Optional excursions are also available, including a guided city walk or a Viking-themed coach tour, offering deeper insight into the region's history and character.
Optional Excursions :
Step into Norway's Viking past with a VR experience at Viking House, explore the legendary battlefield marked by Swords in Rock, and end at the enigmatic Domsteinene stone circle.
Enjoy a guided walk through Old Stavanger, taking in its beautifully preserved wooden houses, Valberg Tower, the colourful streets of Fargegaten, and a café stop for coffee and traditional hjertevafler.
Day 4 - Ålesund - A picturesque town :
After breakfast on board, we dock in Ålesund, a striking town spread across a chain of islands and celebrated for its distinctive architecture.
Rebuilt in the early 1900s, many of Ålesund's colourful façades and rounded towers reflect the elegant Art Nouveau style of the period. For sweeping views across the archipelago, head up to the Mount Aksla, one of the town's most rewarding vantage points.
You may also choose to visit the Atlantic Sea Park, Norway's first marine science centre and one of Northern Europe's largest saltwater aquariums, home to seals, otters, crabs and even Humboldt penguins — a rare sight this far north.
Optional excursions include a guided walking tour of Ålesund or a scenic coach journey through the surrounding islands, with a stop at a dramatic lighthouse beside a beautiful sandy beach.
Optional Excursions :
Explore Ålesund on a guided walking tour, discovering its rebuilt Art Nouveau streets, distinctive spires and turrets, and the maritime life of Brosundet, where fishermen still sell their catch directly from their boats.
Journey by bridge and subsea tunnel to the islands of Giske and Godøy, visiting the 12th-century Giske Church and Alnes Lighthouse, before returning to Ålesund for a sightseeing tour of its distinctive Art Nouveau architecture.
Stroll through Ålesund on a guided walking tour, exploring its colourful Art Nouveau streets, the lively waterfront at Brosundet where fishermen sell their catch, and finishing with a tasting at a small local brewery.
Day 5 - Rørvik - An ancient fishing town :
The cosy fishing port of Rørvik, set within the beautiful Vikna archipelago, may be small in size but it carries a remarkable depth of history, revealed through both its dramatic coastal landscape and its collection of engaging museums.
Here, you can choose to join an optional excursion that journeys through 10,000 years of local history — from Ice Age–shaped terrain and carefully preserved 19th-century interiors to the modern ingenuity behind Norwegian salmon farming, all brought to life across three outstanding museums.
In the afternoon, we continue sailing north through the Vikna archipelago, a maze of more than 6,000 islands, islets and reefs. Thanks to the mild maritime climate, local gardens bloom with plum and apple blossoms in spring, even at 65° north.
As night falls, we leave the Helgeland coast behind and cross the Arctic Circle, marking a key milestone on our Arctic voyage.
Optional Excursions :
Discover the maritime heritage of Rørvik on a guided town walk and museum tour, exploring the Norveg Coastal Museum, Berggården and Telemuseet, from Ice Age settlements and Viking history to shipwrecks and modern salmon farming.
Travel by boat to the remote island of Nærøya for a guided visit to medieval Nærøykirka, discovering thousands of years of local history, myths and legends on a privately owned island once central to religious and community life.
Day 6 - Svolvær, Stokmarknes - Lofoten islands and our historic birthplace :
Today we explore the dramatic beauty of Lofoten, where sheer mountain peaks rise straight from the sea and fishing villages cling improbably to their slopes — a landscape that quickly explains why these islands are considered among Norway's most spectacular. We dock in Svolvær this morning, set on the island of Austvågøya at the heart of the archipelago. As Lofoten's largest town, Svolvær buzzes with shops, cafés, galleries and restaurants, and offers views of the iconic Svolvær Goat, a distinctive rock formation said to resemble a goat with raised horns.
From Svolvær, a range of optional excursions awaits, from winter fishing and sea kayaking along the rugged coastline to guided coach tours that delve deeper into Lofoten's rich history and culture.
Later, we continue to Stokmarknes, the birthplace of the Coastal Express, founded here in 1893 by shipping pioneer Richard With. On the waterfront stands the Hurtigruten Museum, home to the beautifully preserved MS Finnmarken, displayed within a striking glass structure shaped like a ship in a bottle.
Optional Excursions :
Discover the art, culture and history of Lofoten on a scenic tour from Svolvær, passing Svolværgeita and Vågan Church before exploring the picturesque fishing village of Henningsvær and its renowned art galleries.
Enjoy an authentic deep-sea fishing adventure in Lofoten, casting your line from a traditional fishing boat, catching species such as pollock and Arctic cod, and learning how to prepare your catch while immersed in Norway's dramatic coastal scenery.
Learn to kayak on the Arctic Sea from Svolvær, paddling through the stunning Lofoten on a guided beginner-friendly adventure that combines spectacular scenery with insights into local nature, history and culture.
Speed through the waters of Lofoten on an exhilarating RIB safari, exploring remote islands and hidden beaches while keeping watch for majestic White-tailed Eagle soaring overhead.
Day 7 - Tromsø – The gateway to the Arctic :
This lively Arctic city, located 217 miles north of the Arctic Circle, buzzes with energy, from stylish restaurants and cafés to boutique shops showcasing local crafts, produce and even high fashion. Our ship remains in port for eight hours, giving you ample time to explore independently or join a choice of optional excursions.
Delve into the city's polar heritage at the Polar Museum, which charts Tromsø's history of Arctic hunting and trade, or visit Polaria, an interactive aquarium home to seals and other Arctic marine life. You may also sample local king crab, a regional delicacy harvested from the cold waters around Honningsvåg and enjoyed year-round.
The standout experience here is an optional visit to the North Cape, dramatically perched above the Barents Sea. One of the northernmost points of mainland Europe, it is especially striking in winter, when snow-covered landscapes and vast Arctic views stretch to the horizon.

Snowshoe to a remote frozen lake, drill your own fishing hole, learn traditional ice-fishing techniques to catch trout or Arctic char, then warm up by the fire in a traditional lavvo tent and enjoy your freshly cooked catch.
Day 9 - Alta – The city of Northern Lights :
Situated at 70° north, this town lies well above the Arctic Circle, offering exceptional opportunities to witness the Northern Lights - so be sure to keep your camera close at hand.
During an optional excursion, you can discover what daily life in Alta is like, view ancient rock carvings, and visit the striking Northern Lights Cathedral. Inside, an exhibition reveals how Alta became a hub of pioneering Aurora Borealis research during the 19th and 20th centuries.
When winter blankets the region with heavy snowfall, authentic Arctic adventures await—like dogsledding across the pristine landscape. In seasons without snow, you can still experience the thrill of dogsledding on wheels. The unique climate and abundant snow also make Alta the ideal setting for constructing and sustaining the extraordinary Igloo Hotel. Built from 250 tonnes of ice, perched along the Alta River, it reigns as the world's northernmost ice hotel, complete with intricate ice sculptures and detailed wall carvings.
Optional Excursions :
Experience the rich culture and daily life of Alta, "The Northern Lights City," on a guided excursion that includes a thrilling dog sled ride through snowy landscapes, warming up by a Sami laavo fire with hot drinks and local stories, and meeting the friendly sled dogs at a husky farm.

After departing from Narvik, we journey south along Norway's spellbinding coastline, where windswept islands, tranquil bays, and some of the world's most stunning fjords unfold before your eyes, home to an array of wildlife, including the magnificent Sea Eagle.
When Hurtigruten voyages first ventured north of the Trøndelag region in 1893, much of this coast remained uncharted. Now, with generations of experience, we've mastered these intricate waters, guiding you through the maze of skerries, islets, and secret fjords that make this part of Norway so extraordinary.
Day 12 - Åndalsnes - Alpine village by the fjord :
After docking right in the town centre, you'll have time to explore Åndalsnes, a charming coastal town nestled along the Isfjord at the end of the majestic Romsdalsfjord.
The true "highlights" of Åndalsnes are, quite literally, its dramatic mountains - magnetic for hikers, climbers, and skiers alike. Among them stands the famous Troll Wall, a 1,000 metre vertical cliff in the Romsdalen Valley that draws thrill seekers from across the globe.
Stroll through town on a guided city walk, then ascend the Romsdal Gondola to the summit of Nesaksla Mountain, 708 metres above sea level, where breathtaking 360 degree views reveal Romsdalshorn, the Rauma River, and Åndalsnes far below. For an unforgettable ride, join an optional excursion aboard the Golden Train—hailed by Lonely Planet as "the most scenic railway journey in Europe."
