Named for northern Norway, most of which lies above the Arctic Circle, MS Nordnorge sails the Original Coastal Express between Bergen and Kirkenes, with a modern, Arctic-inspired interior since her most recent refurbishment.
About The Ship
MS Nordnorge is one of the Original fleet's Coastal Express ships, refurbished in 2016 and again in 2022 to give her a modern, Arctic-inspired interior throughout. On board are three restaurants and the Multe bakery, a sauna and fitness room, and two outdoor hot tubs on deck, alongside the reception, tour guide desk and shop clustered around the ship's large compass area.
She earned an unlikely piece of television history in 2011, when her voyage from Bergen to Kirkenes was broadcast live and uninterrupted for 134 hours, entering the Guinness Book of Records as the longest continuous television documentary ever made.
In Detail
Where the Signature ships are built around all-inclusive comfort, MS Nordnorge keeps the more informal, working atmosphere of the Original fleet, described by Hurtigruten as koselig, a Nordic sense of cosiness that runs through her public rooms. She also carries cars, unlike the Signature ships, making her a practical choice for anyone bringing their own vehicle along the coast.
Life On Board
Life at sea aboard MS Nordnorge has an easy, informal rhythm to it. These are the rooms and spaces that shape a typical day on board, from morning coffee to the last drink of the evening.
Set at the front of the ship, this is the natural spot to nestle into a comfy chair with a handcrafted cocktail, chat to fellow guests, and watch the coastline go by. It has an unhurried, sociable feel that suits the ship's slower pace.

211 cabins in all, including 12 suites, spread across four categories from Polar Inside through to the Expedition Suites. The refurbished suites sleep up to four and include Wi-Fi, TV, bathrobes and an espresso machine.

Dining On Board
Torget, meaning "marketplace", is the main restaurant, offering a buffet or set menu for all three daily meals. Kysten, meaning "the coast", is the à la carte option for a more formal evening. Brygga, named for the wharf, is the all-day bistro for salads, pizzas and other easy dishes. Multe, named after the Arctic cloudberry, is the onboard bakery, serving fresh pastries, open sandwiches and cloudberry jam with waffles.
