About The Ship

An homage to Norwegian nature

MS Trollfjord sails the Svalbard Line, the North Cape Line and Hurtigruten's new Limited Collection routes, and stands apart in the fleet for her classic, timeless style. Locally sourced natural materials, wood and stone chief among them, feature throughout the ship's furnishings, echoing the fjords she sails through.

Details and flourishes throughout evoke a golden era of exclusive small-ship sailing, a deliberate nod to Hurtigruten's 130-year heritage on this coast, set alongside all the comforts of a modern, all-inclusive ship. At 500 guests she carries roughly the same number of passengers as the Original fleet's larger ships, but with more space per guest, since every sailing is all-inclusive and there is no port-to-port local trade to accommodate.

In Detail

A ship built for the coast she sails

From the outside, MS Trollfjord carries the same purposeful lines as the rest of the fleet, but built to a larger, more comfortable scale for her longer, all-inclusive voyages. Inside, that scale shows in wide corridors, tall windows, and public rooms designed to be lived in for a fortnight at a time rather than passed through.

Life On Board

Where you'll spend your time

Life at sea aboard MS Trollfjord marries modern comforts with an age-old maritime ambience. These are the rooms and spaces that shape a typical day on board, from morning coffee to the last drink of the evening.

MS Trollfjord 1893 Bar

The 1893 Bar

Named for the year Hurtigruten's first coastal voyage set sail, the 1893 Bar spans two storeys behind floor-to-ceiling windows, with the panorama lounge above and a more intimate seating area below. It's the natural gathering spot before dinner and after, with a drinks list built around Norwegian spirits and botanicals alongside the usual favourites.

MS Trollfjord sauna with a view

Panoramic Sauna & Fitness Room

Up on the top deck, the sauna is walled in glass on every side, so the coastline keeps sliding past while you sit back and warm up. The adjoining fitness room shares the same views, with a small range of cardio and weight equipment for anyone keen to keep up a routine mid-voyage.

MS Trollfjord lecture hall

The Lecture Hall

Set amidships, this is where the Expedition Team give their talks on wildlife, history and the Northern Lights through the voyage, and where Tom Kerss runs his astronomy programme on the dedicated departures. In the evening, the same room often doubles as a cinema, screening films tied to the day's ports of call.

MS Trollfjord MG Expedition Suite

Cabins & Suites

270 cabins in all, including 21 suites, spread across four categories from Polar Inside through to the Expedition Suites, many with private balconies. Every category is finished in the same natural materials as the rest of the ship, and every fare includes full board regardless of which you choose.
