Make your voyage your own. The Coastal Express comes in two fares, Basic and Select, so you can travel exactly the way that suits you. Here is what each includes.
Two Ways to Sail
The fare options apply to full and half voyages on the Coastal Express, that is the Coastal Express Round Voyage and the Coastal Express North and South. They are not applicable to port to port bookings. Both fares give you the same voyage, the same ports and the same time on board; the difference is how much you choose in advance and what is included along the way. Your cabin choice and fare go together, as explained on the cabins page.
The Essential Experience
The Basic fare gives you access to all the core services and facilities on board, at the lowest price. When booking, you choose from three general cabin categories, Arctic Superior, Polar Outside and Polar Inside, and your specific cabin is assigned to you at check in, after you come aboard. The Basic fare includes all three daily meals in the main restaurant, with pre allocated meal times, along with the child discount and the Northern Lights Promise on qualifying voyages. It is the ideal choice if you are happy to let Hurtigruten pick your exact cabin and you would rather keep the fare down.

The Select fare is Hurtigruten's most popular option, crafted to include the things travellers value most. In addition to the essential services, you choose your exact cabin, down to the cabin number (extra charge on shorter voyages), and pick your preferred dining time. You also stay connected with complimentary WiFi where available, and enjoy complimentary tea and coffee whenever you want. Expedition Suites are available to book on the Select fare. If you like to know precisely where you will be sleeping and to have the extras taken care of, Select is the natural choice.

Choice of cabin number is available only on full Coastal Express voyages; half voyages (Bergen to Kirkenes and Kirkenes to Bergen) are subject to a cabin assignment fee. Choice of dining time is subject to availability. Full board is included only on full and half voyages on the Coastal Express; those travelling port to port can buy meals at extra cost. The Northern Lights Promise applies to voyages of 11 days or more between late September and the end of March; see special offers for conditions.
