This itinerary combines a relaxing voyage north from Bergen to Tromsø with two nights in the Arctic Capital itself, to coincide with the annual Sami reindeer racing championships.
This itinerary enjoys a relaxing voyage from Bergen to Tromsø followed by three nights in the Arctic Capital itself, to coincide with the annual Sami reindeer racing championships.
Setting sail from Bergen, you keep our eyes open for the magnificent Northern Lights as you enjoy the Voyage North to Tromsø, where you arrive during the week of local festivities following 6th February, the official Sami National Day - the date when the first Sami congress was held in 1917.
The highlight of these celebrations is the annual reindeer racing championships, which take place in the centre of Tromsø on 8th February. Wrap up warm to enjoy the spectacle as competitors try to stay upright on their skis behind their reindeer as they gallop down the snow-covered streets, reaching top speeds of 60km per hour.
ItineraryDay 1 : Fly to Bergen, transfer to the quay and join the voyage to Tromsø. Four nights on board (D).
Days 2 - 4 : Voyage along the stunning Norwegian coastline (B, D).
Day 5 : Arrive in Tromsø, transfer to our centrally located hotel for the next two nights. Free time to join local events or an optional excursions (B).
Day 6 : Enjoy the local events and the final reindeer race. Optional Arctic Gourmet Dinner or Dog Sledging(B).
Day 7 : Transfer to airport for return flight.

Art Nouveau Tour - Ålesund : A leisurely paced walking tour through the streets of Ålesund. Along the way, explore the town's scenic fishing port of Brosundet, the special Apoptekertorget Square and the exiting and finely decorated main street - all this and more, to savour the town's rich history and lively streets.

Dog Sledging - Tromsø :
This tour heads to the island of Kvaløya, where you change clothes and footwear and meet eager Huskies anxious to pull the sleds over the frozen landscape.
It is deep dark winter and the only light comes from our headlamps and the starry sky. The mood is magical as the dogs run almost silently over the snowy plains and we anticipate seeing the Northern Lights.
The trip comes to a close in a well-heated Lavvo (Sami tent) and you can enjoy an open fire and a hot drink whilst recounting the day’s adventure.

Reindeer Sledging - Tromsø :Whilst sledging through the Norwegian winter landscape the only thing you will hear are the reindeer bells, a peaceful experience. After the sledging you will be taken to the lavvo (Sami tent) for a warm meal and a chance to experience how the Sami lived their lives.
