Cruising the fjords on the Norwegian Coastal Voyage
Flight Information

The flights and schedules as presented on this website are a selection of the services which may be used on these holidays and should be read in conjunction with the booking conditions.

Hurtigruten Flights

Designed to give you total flexibility plus the benefits of reduced airfares, the prices for all the voyages exclude the international flight.

You have the following options to find the fare that best suits your needs:

  • Book one of our scheduled flights - including transfers and all relevant taxes, as displayed on the price panels (Explorer Voyages) or on the Norway flights table.
  • Enquire at the time of booking, and we can check the current fares to Norway to see if there is a better priced option for you (booking fee applies).
  • If you wish to book your own flights on the internet or by using Air Miles, let us know at the time of booking.

Fares

To allow maximum flexibility, the price of the tours does not include airfares. If required, these can easily be built in to the package.

The airfares offered on this website are special package tour fares and once booked cannot be altered or cancelled without charge. They can only be used in conjunction with our voyages. Refunds are not permitted on any unused portion of the air ticket and if you decide to return on another flight other than shown on your air ticket, the full one-way fare will be charged by the airline.

Should you choose to purchase the 'best available far' at the time of booking, instead of our package tour fare then the full cost of this ticket is to be paid together with your deposit. The ticket will be issued at the time of booking, it is non-refundable and cannot be altered.

In-Flight Meal Service and Flight Upgrades

There is no complimentary meal served in economy class on routes within Europe and domestic flights for airlines listed on this website; snacks and refreshments can be purchased on board. A complimentary meal with refreshments is served on business class flights within Europe.

Upgrading to business class also gives you access to the airline lounge and extra baggage allowance. On services within Europe however there is no improved seating i.e. extra leg room or wider seats.

Upgrades only apply to the international sectors from and to the UK, not to domestic flights or inter-Scandinavia sectors.

Please contact our reservations team if you wish to upgrade your flight.

Flight Times

Norway is one hour ahead of UK time. Timings shown on this web site and on documentation you will receive are local times based on the 24 hour clock system. All flight times are subject to change, it is important to check the tickets for final details of flight times etc. when they arrive.

Baggage Allowance

The baggage allowance for most airlines listed is 20 kg (44lbs) per person. Regulations vary on low-cost airlines (Norwegian, Jet2 & Sterling) and you should check with the airline for the latest information.

In addition each person is permitted to take one piece of hand luggage on board, weighing no more than 5kg (11lbs). For business class the allowance is 30kg (66lbs) per person, hand luggage 5kg (11lbs).

Please advise us at the time of booking if you wish to carry bulky items such as wheelchairs to enable us to clear this with the airline. Carriage of those and similar items cannot be guaranteed and may be subject to a charge. If you exceed the baggage allowance, carriage of excess luggage may be refused or an excess luggage charge may be made by the airline.

Cancelled or Delayed Flights

Under EU legislation you have rights in some circumstances to refunds and/or compensation from the airline in cases of denied boarding, cancellation or delay to flights. However, reimbursement in such cases is the responsibility of the airline and will not automatically entitle you to a refund of your holiday cost from Hurtigruten. If baggage is lost, damaged, delayed or destroyed, you must write to the airline as soon as possible and within seven days in the case of damage and within twenty-one days in the case of delay, from when the baggage was received by you.

We are unable to accept liability for any loss resulting from the cancellation of or delay to any services or transport organised independently by you in connection with any arrangements made by ourselves.

Airport Transfers

All travellers booking the standard flights as part of their holiday package will have transfers provided between the airport and hotel or ship, at the beginning and end of their trip. Unless you make specific arrangements, transfers are not included if you book your own flight.

No Need to Fly!

You may prefer to travel only by sea throughout your holiday to Norway with DFDS Seaways between Newcastle and Bergen. See Sea Travel.
